Consider this…
The Milk Way is just one single galaxy in The Universe. It is home to our Sun, a tiny single star, which our Earth orbits. It contains about 200–400 billion other stars. Turn a flashlight on at one end of the Milky Way and it will take 100,000 to 200,000 years for the light to reach the other side.
The Universe has, at conservative estimations, contains about 170 billion galaxies. Probably more.
